The forewing displays pale streaks that extend up to the apex of the cell. Meanwhile, the hind wings exhibit a deeper crimson-red hue. On the upper side of the hind wing, delicate black scales create a dusted appearance. In the past, female butterflies would leisurely flutter along forest paths. During the 1980s, endemic species were abundant in South Andamans. Their preferred food source is Thotia tomentose.
