The India Art Architecture and Design Biennale 2023 (IAADB -23) is a significant initiative by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, aimed at invigorating the cultural space and creative economy. Scheduled to take place at the iconic Red Fort in New Delhi from 8th to 15th December 2023, IAADB-23 seeks to establish itself as a global cultural event, comparable to prestigious biennales and art fairs worldwide.

With a focus on inclusivity and collaboration, IAADB-23 will feature participation from students, emerging and established artists, architects, designers, as well as folk and rural practitioners. The event aims to promote dialogue and provide a platform for professionals across various creative disciplines, leveraging the arts for global cultural diplomacy and connection.

The chosen venue, the Red Fort, symbolizes India’s rich artistic and architectural heritage. The event will feature curated exhibitions, workshops, cultural programs, and interactive sessions, highlighting the diverse artistic traditions of India, from ancient to contemporary and technology-driven art, architecture, and design.

Themed exhibitions, complemented by curated programs and interactive installations, will offer visitors an immersive experience. Themes such as “Door of India,” “Gardens of India,” “Temple Architecture of India,” and “Women in Architecture Design” will be explored through various programs and discussions.

In addition to showcasing established talent, IAADB-23 will provide a platform for emerging artists through a Student Biennale, fostering creativity and imagination among the youth.

The Department of Posts recognizes the significance of IAADB-23 in promoting Indian art and culture on the global stage and is proud to issue a Commemorative Postage Stamp to commemorate this landmark event.
