Celebrating 75 Years of India–Philippines Friendship with a Joint Stamp Issue

India and the Philippines enjoy warm and enduring ties built on deep historical, cultural, and civilizational connections, as well as shared values and common interests. Formal diplomatic relations between the two nations were established in November 1949, laying the foundation for a partnership that has grown stronger over the decades.

The Philippines today is a key pillar in India’s Act East Policy, Vision MAHASAGAR, and Indo-Pacific strategy, and plays an important role in India’s Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with ASEAN.

A Philatelic Tribute – Joint Stamp on National Flowers

As the two nations celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Department of Posts is proud to release a joint commemorative stamp set with the Philippines.

The theme of this stamp issue is National Flowers:

  • Lotus (India) – a timeless emblem of purity, resilience, and spiritual awakening
  • Sampaguita (Philippines) – a cherished symbol of fidelity, humility, and strength

Together, these flowers represent the enduring friendship, close cultural ties, and shared values that connect India and the Philippines.

This philatelic release not only marks 75 years of diplomatic ties but also reflects the tradition of using postage stamps as a medium to celebrate global partnerships and cultural connections. For collectors and admirers alike, it is a lasting symbol of international friendship and unity.
