The Nebiya Khera Temple at Bhadaura, dating back to the 9th–10th century AD, is a remarkable example of early brick and terracotta temple architecture in India. Constructed primarily of baked clay, the temple reflects the creativity and skill of ancient architects who transformed terracotta into enduring sacred structures.

Built in the panchayatana style, the temple consists of a central shrine surrounded by four subsidiary shrines. Uniquely, while three subsidiary shrines are positioned at the corners, the fourth is aligned with the northern wall of the central shrine, making the layout architecturally distinctive.

The central shrine is a fine specimen of the Latina shikhara of the Nagara temple style. A Shivalinga is installed in the sanctum, confirming the temple’s dedication to Lord Shiva. Inside the sanctum, a sculptural panel on the western wall is believed to depict Karttikeya and Veerbhadra, adding to the temple’s religious and artistic significance.

The subsidiary shrines mirror the central structure in style, featuring low roofs and triangular entrances, creating a harmonious architectural ensemble that highlights early medieval temple aesthetics.
