The XV International Congress of Pediatrics is being hosted in New Delhi, India, for the first time, organized by the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and conducted under the auspices of the International Pediatric Association (IPA). The IPA serves as a central organization for pediatric societies and associations from 85 countries worldwide, aiming to foster collaboration among pediatricians globally and promote research in all aspects of child health and care.
Every three years, the IPA holds congresses in various regions of the world. In recent times, it has also conducted seminars, particularly in developing nations, where the needs of children are most pressing. The Indian Academy of Pediatrics, founded in 1964, represents child health specialists in India, comprising 2,000 members dedicated to the study, practice, and enhancement of pediatric care and child health in the country.
The Indian Posts and Telegraphs Department considers it an honor to issue a postage stamp commemorating this significant event, highlighting India’s role in hosting the international congress and its commitment to advancing pediatric healthcare and research.
