Commemorative Stamp: Honoring 200 Years of Spiritual Legacy

Introduction to VadtalDham

VadtalDham, located in Nadiad Taluka of Kheda district, is the spiritual capital of the Shree Swaminarayan Sampradaya, which has now spread across the world. This sacred site witnessed the anointment of two Acharya Maharajs for the first time, marking its significance in the spiritual heritage of the Sampradaya.

The temple was built on the command of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan by Sadguru Shree Brahmanand Swami and Sadguru Shree Aksharanand Swami, using nine lakh bricks for its foundation. Constructed in the shape of a lotus, the temple symbolizes harmony among all religions and features depictions of past avatars of gods and goddesses.

Spiritual Significance of Vadtal

VadtalDham has been the site of many pivotal events in the life of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan, including:

  • Pran Pratishtha of Shree Harikrushna Maharaj, whom Shreeji Maharaj identified as his own divine form.
  • Composition of the Shikshapatri, a scripture of 212 shlokas written during his stay at Vadtal.

As the capital of the Swaminarayan sect, Vadtal serves as a center of spiritual pilgrimage, where daily rituals such as five aartis are performed, and devotees’ wishes are fulfilled through pious worship of the deities.
