About this stamp

On the Stamp

An Asian elephant with its herd, on the ₹5 stamp.

The Second Africa–India Forum Summit

India Post issued two stamps, ₹5 and ₹25, and a ₹30 miniature sheet on 25 May 2011 for the second Africa–India Forum Summit, held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with India and 15 African countries taking part. The summit is the official platform for relations between India and Africa; the first was held in New Delhi in April 2008. The two stamps show the elephants of the two continents. India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on Wikipedia and on the stamps themselves.
