About this stamp

On the Stamp

A child’s painting of a tiger standing among trees, on the ₹5 stamp.

Children’s Day 2011

India Post issued two stamps, ₹5 and ₹20, and a ₹25 miniature sheet for Children’s Day, 14 November 2011, the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru. Both stamps are children’s paintings of tigers, chosen in a stamp design contest on the theme “Save the Tiger” held as one of the events of Indipex 2011. India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on Wikipedia and on the stamps themselves.
