About this stamp

The Old Lady of Bori Bunder

India Post issued this ₹5 stamp on 13 November 2013 for 175 years of The Times of India, India’s oldest English-language newspaper, first published in 1838 and nicknamed “the Old Lady of Bori Bunder” after its address in Bombay. Early in the twentieth century the Viceroy Lord Curzon called it “the leading paper in Asia”.
