About this stamp

On the Stamp

A child’s painting of a girl asleep and dreaming of India’s schools, temples, homes and countryside.

Children’s Day 2008

India Post issued three ₹5 stamps and a ₹15 miniature sheet for Children’s Day, 14 November 2008, the birthday of Jawaharlal Nehru. The stamps are children’s paintings on the theme “India of My Dreams”, chosen in a stamp design competition for schoolchildren across the country. India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on India Post’s list and on the stamps themselves.
