The International Day of Non-Violence

India Post issued this ₹25 stamp on 2 October 2009, Gandhi’s birthday, for the International Day of Non-Violence. The United Nations General Assembly established the day in 2007, to be kept every year on 2 October, to spread the message of non-violence through education and public awareness. India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on Wikipedia and on the stamps themselves.
