80th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s 7th visit to Odisha

The 4th Annual Conference of Gandhi Seva Sangha was held from 25th to 31st March, 1938 at Berboi of Puri district at the initiation of Acharya Harihar Das and Gopabandhu Chaoudhary. Mahatma Gandhi came from Calcutta and reached at Delang Railway Station on 25th March. It was his 7th visit to Odissa. The conference was attended by about 800 enthusiastic workmen from different parts of the country including leaders like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Acharya Kripalini, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Harekrushna Mahatab, Mahadevi Desai, Kasturba Gandhi, Durgavati and others. It was a historical event and was like a trial show for the freedom struggle of Orissa.
