Kumar Gandharva was born on 8th April, 1924, in Belgaum, Karnataka. A prodigy with exceptional musical sensitivity, he received early training that laid the foundation for a remarkable musical journey. His childhood brilliance earned him the name “Kumar Gandharva”, symbolizing a child blessed with the voice of the celestial musicians, the Gandharvas.
