About this stamp

On the Stamp

A submarine on the surface of the sea.

The President’s Fleet Review

India Post issued four ₹5 stamps on 19 December 2011 for the President’s Fleet Review at Mumbai. At a fleet review the ships of a navy are paraded and reviewed by the head of state; in India that is the President, the Supreme Commander of the Indian Navy. The four stamps show a submarine, a warship, a yacht and a fighter jet. India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on Wikipedia and on the stamps themselves.
