Wild Flowers of India
India Post issued twelve ₹5 stamps of wild flowers of India on 3 September 2013, in three miniature sheets of four and a sheetlet of all twelve, for the Asian Pacific Postal Union Congress held in New Delhi, which the sheets name in their margins. The flowers, most of them from the Himalayas, are the Himalayan mini sunflower, rhododendron, globe thistle and blue poppy (sheet 1), the roundleaf asiabell, Himalayan iris, Himalayan bellflower and Himalayan lantern (sheet 2), and the Kashmir mallow, cobra lily, bladder campion and Dibang chirita (sheet 3).
India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on the stamps themselves.
