About this stamp

On the Stamp

Shera, the tiger mascot of the Delhi Games, pointing to the Qutub Minar and India Gate.

The 2010 Commonwealth Games

India Post issued a ₹5 stamp, singly and in a miniature sheet, on 18 October 2008, two years ahead of the XIX Commonwealth Games, held in Delhi from 3 to 14 October 2010: the first Commonwealth Games in India. The stamp shows Shera, the tiger mascot of the Delhi Games. India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on Wikipedia and on the stamps themselves.
