About this stamp

On the Stamp

The four butterfly stamps printed together as a block: the male and female Andaman Mormon above, and the female and male Andaman Clubtail below.

Endemic Butterflies of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands

India Post issued four ₹5 stamps and a ₹20 miniature sheet on 2 January 2008 on butterflies found only in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands: the male and female Andaman Mormon (Papilio mayo) and Andaman Clubtail (Pachliopta rhodifer). The four stamps were also printed together as a block of four. India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on India Post’s list and on the stamps themselves.
