The Definitive Stamp

This definitive stamp was printed by photogravure at India Security Press, Nashik, to a design by Sankha Samanta. It was issued on 1 March 2009 and shows Mahatma Gandhi (1869–1948), who led India’s campaign for independence from British rule through non-violent resistance. India Post’s brochure for this issue is not online, so this text draws on Wikipedia and on the stamps themselves.
