Season’s Greetings
India Post issued two stamps of Season’s Greetings on 23 December 2016, ₹10 with a Christmas tree and ₹20 with Santa Claus in his sleigh, in a ₹30 miniature sheet and in two sheetlets. The brochure recalls that the exchange of greetings at the New Year goes back many centuries, perhaps to the Chinese and Egyptians; it was the Romans who first sent written greetings, sent on 25 December to arrive by 1 January. The stamps were designed by Brahm Prakash; Security Printing Press, Hyderabad printed 0.1 million miniature sheets and 15,000 of each sheetlet.
