About this stamp

On the Stamp

The second ₹15 stamp on the Ahimsa Parmo Dharma souvenir sheet, issued on 17 June 2019, shows Mahatma Gandhi’s hand holding a staff in front of a brightly painted background. Its design comes from the nationwide competition India Post held on the theme “Ahimsa Parmo Dharma” (non-violence is the highest duty) for the 150th anniversary of Gandhi’s birth.

500,000 were printed by wet offset at the India Security Press, Nashik. The design is by Nenu Gupta, based on the selected entries.
